I partnered with DANNAR, Inc, San Joaquin Valley, and The Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE) to produce a success story about the landfill's use of the Mobile Power Station. This project was made to showcase both the equipment itself, and the ways it has improved work at the landfill, in order to encourage participation in the CORE program to lower carbon emissions in California. This project entailed a success story video, several social media cuts, and a video featuring the equipment for use in DANNAR and CORE's catalogs.

The Zero Emission Ride and Drive was a live event featuring vehicle demos and ride-alongs. I managed three video and a photography team to captured full event coverage for the company news program, footage for multiple social media promotions, and filmed 18 individual electric vehicle showreels for the HVIP Truck Catalog.

Dystopia Rising: Texas
Live Entertainment Events
Narrative design included, but was not limited to:
• Escape Room Experiences
• Simulated Combat encounters
• Puzzles and complex challenges
• Pyrotechnics
• Multi-stage story investigations
Many of these would be used simultaneously to create a dynamic and complex narrative for attendees to explore and experience.
I also often took on the task of photography for the events, and graphic design for multiple chapters of the company for collateral that was used during events.

Dystopia Rising: Texas runs weekend long live entertainment events monthly. These events allow attendees to take part in a story that is partially pre-written, but allows flexibility for attendees to change the narrative over the weekend.
The brand is much different than my other non-profit and commercial work, relying on an aged and gritty "post-apocalyptic" aesthetic.
Pre-production involved narrative design and overseeing the writing team to produce content for the event, providing feedback and direction to maintain design consistency and quality, and managing the prop and stage construction teams in pre-event builds.

The amount of content to be managed per event was substantial. The event had seven 4 hour blocks of story, and each 4 hour block had roughly 8 discreet "encounters" that needed to be put into play by the staff. Larger encounters, like ones with complicated prop or costume builds or pyrotechnics as seen in the photo, happened once per shift, on average.

Simulated combat (below) is another large part of the experience for attendees. Combat encounters range from very simple, involving a few roaming targets, to extremely complex with many targets with varying engagement styles, often paired with puzzles and non-combat challenges that must be completed to end the encounter.

Puzzles, challenges, and escape room content is a common part of the event. Each one of these must be designed in a way that supports the events themes and narrative, and often requires generating collateral for the attendees to use to interact with the content, such as a battle map of a nearby area (top left), and fake flames used to simulate buildings catching fire and requiring extinguishing (top right). I designed several of these each event, and was the lead in reviewing and providing feedback for designs from the writing team, as well as managing integration of each piece into the schedule of events.
